Executive Team

Guang Yang, Chief Executive Officer


Guang Yang is the Executive Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of BrightSphere Investment Group.

Prior to joining BrightSphere in 2018, Mr. Yang served as the President of HNA Capital US from January 2016 through December 2017, and President of HNA Group Americas from January 2018 through August 2018. He is also the former CEO of Finergy Capital, a Beijing-based private equity firm. Mr. Yang previously spent 15 years as an Executive Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager and Research Analyst at Franklin Templeton Investments Global Equities, and served as the Chairman for Franklin Templeton China.

Mr. Yang also worked as a Research Scientist at Harvard Medical School and at Massachusetts General Hospital. He holds a B.S. from the University of Science and Technology of China, a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Australian National University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Mr. Yang is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

Suren Rana, Chief Financial Officer


Suren Rana has been Chief Financial Officer of BrightSphere Investment Group Inc. since January 20, 2019. Mr. Rana has been involved in the financial services sector for more than fifteen years. Mr. Rana was a member of Brightsphere's board from November 2017 to August 2018. He served as the Chief Investment Officer at HNA Capital International from September 2016 to August 2018. Previously he served as an investment banker at UBS, Royal Bank of Canada and Merrill Lynch where he advised clients on M&A, IPOs, financings and other strategic matters. He also served as a Principal at Equifin Capital Partners from September 2008 to September 2011 where he led control investments in the financial services sector. Mr. Rana began his career at GE Capital with responsibilities in credit risk management and audit. Mr. Rana holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delhi.

Tracy Aber, Head of Talent


Tracy Aber is responsible for formulating and executing the strategy for the acquisition, development and retention of our talent. She has extensive expertise in compensation, equity and benefit plan design and administration, both for employees at the Center as well as our Affiliates. She also oversees all aspects of our talent management function, including compensation, benefits and payroll. Prior to joining BrightSphere in 1994, Ms. Aber was at the accounting firm Arthur Anderson, LLC. She holds a B.A. in Accounting from Boston College and is a Certified Compensation Professional.

Robert Campbell, Head of Information Technology


Robert Campbell oversees BrightSphere's Information Technology department, and is responsible for the firm's IT operations, strategy, security, risk, and governance. He joined the Company in 2012 and has held multiple roles, serving as the head of both the IT Operations and IT Architecture functions. Mr. Campbell brings over 20 years of experience in IT across multiple industries, and has expertise in variety of technology domains. He holds a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and maintains industry certifications including the CISSP.

Brian Carroll, Head of Global Distribution


Brian Carroll has extensive experience in institutional and retail distribution on behalf of BrightSphere's Affiliates at both the management and individual contributor levels, and is responsible for the development and execution of BrightSphere's global distribution strategy. Mr. Carroll oversees sales teams covering the Americas, UK, Europe, Middle East and Asia, and participates in product development and packaging initiatives to enhance BrightSphere's offerings in these regions. Prior to joining BrightSphere, Mr. Carroll directed the Separate Account Wrap Program at FundQuest, Inc. (now Envestnet) where he designed and implemented their separate account wrap offering. Prior to FundQuest, he was a Vice President of Distribution at Nvest (now NATIXIS) where he helped build the distribution effort to the RIA and broker/dealer mutual fund wrap channels. He also has distribution experience at New England Funds and Putnam Investments. Mr. Carroll received a B.A. from Hobart College and an M.B.A. from Babson College. His securities licenses include Series 6, 7, 26, 63 and 65, and he holds a CFA Claritas certificate.

Meghan Driscoll, Head of Affiliate Management


Meghan Driscoll is involved in the oversight and development of BrightSphere's portfolio of Affiliates, represents BrightSphere on Affiliate Boards and partners with Affiliates to execute strategic initiatives. Prior to joining BrightSphere in 2010, she was an Assistant Vice President in the market risk management group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she provided portfolio analytics for the capital markets portfolio. Ms. Driscoll holds a B.S. from Fairfield University and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.

Richard Hart, Chief Legal Officer


Richard Hart oversees all legal matters for BrightSphere, including public company matters, capital markets, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, private funds and commercial transactions. Prior to joining BrightSphere, he was an associate with the law firm Goodwin Procter, where he was a member of the Private Funds and Hedge Funds groups. Mr. Hart holds a B.A. from the University of Richmond and a J.D. from Boston University, where he was a Judge Tauro Scholar and a Senior Editor of the Boston University Law Review. He is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Daniel Mahoney, Head of Finance and Principal Accounting Officer


Daniel Mahoney oversees BrightSphere's financial planning and analysis, accounting and tax departments, along with the Company's risk and internal audit programs. He joined BrightSphere prior to its initial public offering in 2014, serving as Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. Mr. Mahoney previously worked at State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the asset management division of State Street Corporation, most recently in the role of Chief Accounting Officer, where he was responsible for all accounting and control processes for SSgA. Prior to SSgA, Mr. Mahoney established a strong public accounting background during his eleven-year tenure at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP. He holds a B.A. from Tufts University, and subsequently obtained his CPA professional certification.

Brett Perryman, Head of Corporate Communications


Brett Perryman oversees BrightSphere's external and internal communications, including investor relations and public relations. Prior to joining the Company, she served as Vice President, Corporate Communications, at Affiliated Managers Group (AMG) from 2001 to 2009, where she supervised all aspects of its public and investor relations. Prior to working at AMG, Ms. Perryman was a corporate law associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York City, and before that served as a law clerk for the Honorable Douglas H. Ginsburg on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. She holds an A.B. degree from Dartmouth College and a J.D./M.P.P. from Duke University, where she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Duke Law Journal.
